Sound of a Memory / El sonido del recuerdo

Art & Sound Installation

After a much thought decision, but without measuring the consequences, my life was decided to be lived in Tokyo. With an erroneous feeling of going to a well known place, stories were unfolding one after another. Taste of joy, sounds of a new city, friends with names I didn’t know how to pronounce. Steps of a one-direction stair that neither goes up or down. Certainty in the unknown, the shinning of a moment, photo slides on an endless carrusel, new languages reverberating in the room.

“Sound of a Memory” is a sound art performance with audio recordings of a 7-year-long story in Tokyo creates a soundscape that evolves along the exhibition without repeating. Cities, friends, trains, melodies that can be heard but they can’t be lived again.

This is a sound art performance built from audio recordings collected over seven years in Tokyo.
These sounds are transformed and reorganized in real time through AudioStellar, allowing fragments of different times and places to meet in an evolving soundscape that never repeats. Cities, friends, trains, melodies, and fragments of everyday life become the material for a composition that unfolds throughout the performance.

The performance was presented as part of The Contemporary Artists Forum Exhibition “AURA — A One-Time Brilliance” at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum (東京都美術館), Tokyo, Japan, on May 8, 2026.
